This is APEX-1 — Litoral Systems' cockpit display for a sounding rocket. It shows live or recorded flight telemetry: altitude, velocity, acceleration, air pressure, temperature, and a synthesized attitude view.
The four modes
● LIVE
LIVE
Real data from the rocket or the PC simulator.
REPLAY · CAPTURED FLIGHT
REPLAY
Playing a captured flight file. This is what the public page shows by default.
DEMO · SYNTHETIC TELEMETRY
DEMO
Synthetic flight generated in your browser when nothing else is connected.
● REC
REC
You are capturing whatever is on screen (the button glows red).
Recording a flight
Press ● REC to start saving the telemetry you're watching. Press again to stop — your browser downloads a mission file (.ndjson, one telemetry frame per line). Open it later by pressing ▶ PLAY with that file selected. Files recorded in the browser save to your Downloads folder; to publish one for everyone, add it to the repository's web/missions/ folder and push.
Where the data lives
Your Downloads — anything recorded in the browser.
missions/ on your PC — captured by tools/record.py.
data/*.csv on your PC — the ground-truth flight log the simulator writes itself.
web/missions/ — what the public website plays.
LNDG PRED
The right-flank instrument predicts when and how the rocket will land — countdown to predicted landing, predicted impact speed, and predicted apogee. The prediction is made by a small machine-learning model trained on thousands of simulated flights and runs on the Ground Station, not in the browser — so it appears only on live links (it is dimmed during replay and the in-browser demo).
URL shortcuts
?demo=1 forces the synthetic demo · ?replay=1 forces replay without a live link.
